general FAQs

How does the home charger payment plan work?

When you get a home charger as part of your benefits scheme, you can opt to pay for it on a 'Payment Install Plan'. This plan is designed to provide an alternative solution to having to pay for your home charging unit in full.

Home charging units are installed via ChargedEV, who are on the of the largest home charging installation companies in the UK. This plan is operated through them.

How do these payments work?

A continuous payment authority (CPA) is a type of recurring payment that a merchant sets up on a customer's card account, using their debit or credit card details to take payments as and when they're due.

By selecting this payment option, you’ll pay 12 equal instalments of the total price on a monthly basis.

We ask for a £50 deposit to secure your installation appointment. The remaining amount quoted will be split over 12 equal instalments. Your payment instalment plan will start on the first or last day of the month in which your installation has been scheduled.

I have a home charger discount - how does this work?

Your discount will be divided over each instalment payment, reducing the amount due each month.

Are my card details stored?

Your details are securely stored with Stripe. ChargedEV doesn’t store or record card details, you’ll input them securely online.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If we are unable to process your payment on the due date, Stripe will re-attempt a payment four times within two weeks of the due date.

If the payment is not collected within two weeks, we’ll contact you to discuss your payment options and getting your account up to date should this occur.

Is there any interest on my payments?

No, this is a short-term fixed-sum credit agreement with 0% fixed interest.

When will my first payment be?

You can begin your payment plan on the 1st or last day of the month your installation has been scheduled. Your plan will be set up the day after your installation appointment has been arranged.

Can I vary the length of the plan?

No. This plan is fixed term and cannot be extended or reduced. However, if at any time you wish to pay the full amount and end the plan, you can email us at homecharge@chargedev.co.uk or call us on 03300 431 851 and we’ll issue you a new invoice for the remaining balance.

Can I pay off my balance early?

Yes, you can call us at any time on 03300 431 851 to pay the remaining balance.
